Department of History
The Department of History was established in 2001 with an Undergraduate programme under affiliation with HNB Garhwal University. In 2014, the department was upgraded to Postgraduate (P.G.) status.
The department offers 160 seats in the Undergraduate programme and 30 seats in the Postgraduate programme.
Three regular faculty members are serving in the department. Two specialize in Ancient History and one in Modern Indian History.

History Council
The History Council encourages students to engage actively with history through debates, discussions, research papers, seminars, and interactions with eminent scholars.
Educational visits to archives, museums, heritage walks, and study tours provide opportunities to experience history beyond the classroom.
The History Society is primarily run by students under faculty guidance. The Student Council consists of five elected representatives who organize and coordinate events.
