Department of Botany
Faculty of Science
The Department of Botany was established in 2001 at the Undergraduate (B.Sc.) level with 60 sanctioned seats and one Professor post. In 2021, one additional Professor post was approved. Currently, the department has two sanctioned Professor posts, one Lab Assistant and one Lab Attendant.
The department has well-equipped laboratories with instruments, charts, models, plant specimens, and adequate teaching classrooms for UG and PG classes.
A beautiful herbal garden has been developed by the department with more than 100 medicinal plant species. In collaboration with the Forest Department, over 1500 trees have been planted on campus, resulting in rich and diverse vegetation.
